Championing other people’s success
Pulling for other people makes them more prone to pull for you!
Gary Bloomer | SHAKING THE TREE # 321
Sometimes, cheering someone on can be the difference that’s needed between someone carrying on and quitting.
Think about that for a second.
Then think about a time when you received a sudden congratulatory note, or a kind word, or an unexpected influx of subscribers or buyers, simply because someone else saw something in you that you didn’t.
I’m not talking abouit compliments, even thought they’re niche things to get as well.
I’m talking about solid support.
I’m talking about encouragement.
Even if it’s from an unexpected direction.
Every day, millions of people post something or other online: a blog post; an article; a video, a podcast. It doesn’t matter what the material is about, what does matter is how well it’s received and, more importantly, how much it helps someone.
So, as much as it’s great to recieve words of encouragement, it’s justa s important to send words of encouragement … even if those words are going to someone you don’t know, or have never met, or with whom you disagree on certain issues.
Because a rising tide floats everyone’s boat.
And while it’s so tempting to write a comment that tears someone down, it’s better to write something that lifts someone up. Because at some point in time, the pertson on the receiving end of the message is going to be you.
Kindness costs nothting.
As always, thanks for reading.
