Gary Bloomer | SHAKING THE TREE # 209
This week saw something of a landmark for me.
I published the 208th edition of my twice weekly newsletter.
Certain editions have been well received.
Others, not so much.
Some of them have received some positive comments.
Some of them have not received any comments.
And I’m OK with all of this.
Although I’ve still go some way to go in terms of attracting subscribers and although I haven’t made tons of money, I’m OK with my progress so far because to be honest, when I started back in May of 2023, I wasn’t sure how things would go … and yet here we are.
Along the way, I’ve learned that an article does not need to be perfect in order for you to publish it.
I’ve learned that done is better than perfect.
I’ve also learned that rather than producing a perfect post it is better to get something up and out and online, even if it’s not quite finished even if it’s not quite what you wanted it to be and I’m OK with that.
I’ve also learned that articles don’t have to be written in order to be written.
What do I mean by that?
Well take for instance, the article you are reading at the moment.
Most of it wasn’t written or typed: it was dictated using the Notes app on my phone.
I get that this point isn’t exactly a revelation. It’s simply that sometimes, much of the process of content creation get buried and overpowered by the technical aspects of making content.
So, my point here is that content creation is only as complicated as we make it.
The point is to take action—action in any way, shape, or form—because doing it any way is better than not doing anything for fear of getting it wrong, or as an excuse for not having the skills.
You already have the skills and the ability.
But what you probably lack if you’re not doing anything is the courage to get stuff done and out there no matter what.
So, take action in any way you can.
Big or small.
Do it!
As always, thanks for reading.
